South Africa Norway Tertiary Education Development Program (SANTED)

About

This programme was a partnership between the Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation (NORAD), the Department of Education and higher education institutions. The purpose of the programme was to assist the Department of Education in the transformation of the Higher Education sector. SANTED supported, amongst other projects, the implementation of multilingualism in three universities, namely, the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Projects
The UCT-SANTED project was focused on the following projects:

  • Corpus-based multilingual glossaries
  • Xhosa Communication skills course
  • Xhosa for Health Sciences service courses
  • Afrikaans for Health Sciences service courses
